IADT Journal of Research + Creativity (IJRC): Introduction

Open Access Journal of the Institute of Art + Design, Dun Laoghaire.

Introduction

The Institute of Art +Design, Dun Laoghaire has long occupied a unique position in the higher education landscape as an autonomous national centre of excellence for the creative, cultural and technological sectors. We take an inclusive and holistic approach to these sectors and firmly believe that the way we bring together disciplines, methods and perspectives provides a distinctive, interdisciplinary experience within Irish higher education.

Today, as Ireland’s first campus of the creative industries, we are committed to a range of disciplines and perspectives, across business, technology, social science, and the humanities, and we continue to provide a distinctive selection of programmes in art, design, and media. Our faculty and students exemplify this spirit of innovation and creativity.

The IADT Journal of Research and Creativity aims to capture the flavour, range and depth of our areas of study. It will feature original work by our Faculty and students alongside that of undergraduate and postgraduate students, academics and practitioners internationally, all peer reviewed to its appropriate level.

What is IJRC?

The IADT Journal of Research and Creativity (IJRC) is a biannual, peer reviewed, open access, library published journal. It is published in partnership with IADT staff and students and is open to external as well as internal submissions.

IJRC adopts a Diamond Open Access approach, meaning that it is free to publish in and free to read. No author article processing charges are applied.

IJRC is delighted to have been selected for publication on the NORF-funded Pilot National Diamond Open Access Publishing platform and is very grateful to the Publish OA Ireland project for this opportunity.
