This page is for anyone who is not a current student or staff member but would like to use a library at one of the TUA institutions.

This includes:

  • Alumni
  • Retired staff
  • School visitors
  • Members of the wider community

What is TUA?

TUA stands for the Technological University Association. It is the representative body for the country's Institutes of Technology and Technological Universities.

The institutions of TUA are:

ATU Atlantic Technological University (formerly GMIT, IT Sligo, and Letterkenny Institute of Technology)
DkIT Dundalk Institute of Technology
IADT Institute of Art, Design + Technology
MTU Munster Technological University (formerly Cork Institute of Technology and the Institute of Technology Tralee)
SETU South East Technological University (formerly Waterford IT and IT Carlow)
TUD Technological University Dublin (formerly Dublin Institute of Technology, IT Blanchardstown, and IT Tallaght)
TUS Technological University of the Shannon (formerly Athlone Institute of Technology and the Limerick Institute of Technology)

If you studied or worked at one of the institutions in the Technological University Association (TUA), you may be able to use the library at your former university or institute. You may also be able to use the library as an external member of the community or as a school visitor.

Your library access

This page brings together key information from all of these institutions. You can:

  • Check if you are eligible to use the library
  • See what services are available
  • Learn how to apply
  • Discover free learning materials (OERs) and Open Access resources through your institution

Each library is slightly different. Some offer borrowing, others offer reference access or a quiet place to read and study. Some libraries may charge a fee to use their services, and some may not. You can check the page for your institution to see what their charges are.

If you are continuing with research, want to stay connected to your academic community, or are just looking for a welcoming library space, we hope this page helps you get started.
